A basketball classic whose history goes back over a century! It can be safely said that Converse Chuck Taylor All Star were the first basketball shoes. The original version of the shoes was created in 1917 in the Converse Rubber Shoe Company in the state of Massachusetts. Initially, they were manufactured in natural brown color with black stitches. In the twenties of the previous century, the upper was already made of black linen or natural leather.
In 1921, a basketball player named Charles "Chuck" Taylor suggested some significant changes to the design of the shoes, making them, among others, more stable. Next, Mr. Taylor joined the sales department in the Converse company, where he successfully promoted the model all over the United States. In thanks for that, in 1932, his name appeared on a badge placed on the upper.
Until today, the Chuck Taylor All Star model has been the most popular and one of the best selling basketball shoes.
