A basketball classic with a history going back over a century! It's fair to say that the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star were the first basketball shoes. The original version of the shoe was made in 1917 by the Converse Rubber Shoe Company in Massachusetts. Initially, they were produced in a natural brown color with black trim. In the 20s of the previous century, the upper was made of black canvas or natural leather.
In 1921, a basketball player named Charles "Chuck" Taylor proposed several significant changes to the design of the shoe that made them, among others, more stable. Mr. Taylor then joined the sales department at Converse and successfully promoted the model throughout the United States. In gratitude for this, in 1932 his name appeared on the stripe on the uppers.
To this day, the Chuck Taylor All Star model is the most popular and one of the best-selling basketball shoes.
